Export to CSV

CSV or Comma Separated Values exports your data in a format that can be read back in by other software such as spreadsheet editors. References are not exported with this format.

CSV files can also be exported from the web-readout. The generated document is similar to the Single File export with all slates and attributes selected.

1. Export Types

Three different export types for CSV can be chosen:

  1. VES Camera Report Interchange Format (CRIF)
A standardized form proposed by the Visual Effects Society (and which Setellite helped develop) which respects specific formatting agreements so exchanging information within the industry becomes more efficient.
  2. Single File
All data is compiled into one CSV file.
  3. Multiple Files
Your data is divided into multiple CSV files for Main, Cameras and Takes. This is useful if you need the information splitted to import elsewhere.

For more information about the VES Camera Report Interchange Format visit www.camerareports.org.

2. Additional Settings

2.1. VES Camera Report Interchange Format

The Unit Conversion setting is only available when the VES CRIF is chosen as the Export Type and allow several take values (e.g. Lens Height, Subject Distance) to be converted to a different unit system

  1. Don't convert Units
Selecting this option will present the values and units as they were filled out in the application.
  2. Convert to Imperial Units
This option is in line with the CRIF guidelines and converts the values to feet and inches.
  3. Convert to Centimeters
This option converts all values to centimeters.

The following Miscellaneous setting is available when the VES CRIF is selected as Export Type:

  1. Include Empty Takes
Selecting this option includes all slates and cameras are exported, even when no take is associated to the slate.

2.2. Single File

The following Miscellaneous setting is available when Single File is selected as Export Type:

  1. Include Empty Takes
Selecting this option includes all slates and cameras are exported, even when no take is associated to the slate.

2.3. Multiple Files

The following Miscellaneous settings are available when Multiple Files is selected as Export Type:

  1. Add Camera & Take Counts
Selecting this option adds to columns at the end of the Slate CSV file, showing the number of cameras and takes linked to the various slates.
  2. Add Object IDs & Links
Selecting this options creates unique identifiers for the exported slates, cameras and takes. These identifiers can be used to link the correct slates, cameras and takes in other software.

3. Mappings

In the mapping section, a selection of slates can be made that is included in the export. When using the Slates Filter and tapping the export button the filtered selection of slates is automatically used in the export's slate mapping.
